The terms “line cliché”, “ascending scale”, and “Am11#13” are all just ways to verbally communicate the experience of the sound. You don’t need these terms, as your brain already knows the EXPERIENCE of the music, which is most important. BUT now that you KNOW the terms, you can call upon that sound as you’re writing or improvising! 😁
